The search for the perfect person to helm "The Batman" is on, following Ben Affleck's decision to step down as director. According to a report, the most obvious choice to take over the role is Zack Snyder.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Snyder is the perfect candidate to direct "The Batman" based on obvious reasons. Foremost is his experience with DC movies. Snyder is familiar with the DC comicbook world and its characters. He directed "Watchmen," "Man of Steel," "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" and the upcoming "Justice League" movie.
Second, Snyder is familiar with Affleck's version of the Batman. After all, he directed the actor in "Dawn of Justice" and "Justice League." Affleck will reprise the character in "The Batman" movie, so it would only make sense if Snyder continues to direct the actor in the said film. Likewise, the director has extensive knowledge about these DC movies, given that he is the executive producer.
Third, Snyder knows by heart Frank Miller's version of the Batman. He based "Dawn of Justice" out of the pages of Miller's "Batman: The Dark Knight Returns" comics. He is very much familiar with Miller's works. He also directed "300," which is another of Miller's comic series.
According to the publication, Snyder is the perfect director for "The Batman," because he only wants the best for the character. He wants the caped crusader to look good in his movies, so to redefine his image to the fans.
Regardless, Warner Bros. has yet to announce who will take over Affleck as director of "The Batman." The actor realized that he cannot do both jobs and decided to focus on portraying the character instead.
"Performing this role demands focus, passion and the very best performance I can give. Together with the studio, I have decided to find a partner in a director who will collaborate with me on this massive film," Yahoo quoted Affleck as saying.
