Freeform's upcoming TV series, "Cloak & Dagger," has cast its two lead characters.

According to Marvel, former Disney star Olivia Holt and "The Night Of" actor Aubrey Joseph have landed the title roles of "Cloak & Dagger." Holt and Joseph will play Tandy Bowen, a.k.a. Dagger, and Tyrone Johnson, a.k.a. Cloak, respectively, on the series based on the characters from the Marvel comics.

"Cloak & Dagger" is described as a coming of age story between two teenagers who find themselves waking up to newly acquired superpowers as they fall in love. Holt's Tandy can throw light beams which can knock down her enemies, and Joseph's Tyrone can engulf his foes in darkness.

"Marvel is delighted to have found our Cloak and Dagger. Olivia Holt and Aubrey Joseph encompass the true essence of the characters and we are excited for the audience to see them in these roles," said Head of Marvel Television and Executive Producer Jeph Loeb in a statement.

Holt's other TV credits include "Shake It Up!," "Kickin' It," "Dog with a Blog" and "Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero."

Freeform is yet to announce a showrunner to supervise the series as well as an official premiere date for "Cloak & Dagger." Casting additions are expected to be announced on a later date as soon as production begins.

"Cloak & Dagger" marks as Freeform's first collaboration project with Marvel in an effort to cater to their younger audiences under the 14-34 demographic. The series is the latest addition to Marvel's growing number of TV shows including "Agents of SHIELD," "Luke Cage," "Jessica Jones," "Iron Fist," "The Defenders," "Daredevil" and "The Inhumans."

Freeform is also home to other popular drama and comedy series such as "The Fosters," "Shadowhunters," "Beyond," "Baby Daddy" and "Young & Hungry." "Pretty Little Liars" and "Switched at Birth" will wrap-up their final seasons this year.
