"The Accountant" director Gavin O'Connor is in negotiations to direct Warner Bros.' crime drama "Father Daughter Time." "Jason Bourne" producer Matt Damon and "The Accountant" actor Ben Affleck are on board to produce.

According to Variety, the script of "Father Daughter Time" is focused on a man and his daughter as his accomplice on a multi-state crime spree. O'Connor said that he have always wanted to explore the father daughter relationship.

In an interview for "Father Daughter Time," O'Connor said that he was a single dad for many years and being a good father and a good example to his daughter was deeply important to him. He, however, stressed that as a father, he has flaws and mistakes. He added that a daughter can be like a Martian to a father and he wanted to explore how to become a great father to a daughter when no one has taught him how.

O'Connor said that Damon has been shooting back-to-back films for a few years and wanted to break to catch up on his life and his family. He added that Damon was so generous enough to allow him to take the reins directorially for "Father Daughter Time" while he would produce it, Deadline reported.

O'Connor teamed with Affleck on "The Accountant" on Oct. 15, 2016, which was a solid box office performer with nearly $150 million in worldwide grosses on a $44 million budget. He is also attached to direct in war drama "Atlantic Wall" with Imperative Entertainment producing and starring "Limitless" actor Bradley Cooper as an American soldier trapped behind enemy lines in "World War II."

Damon is a producer on awards contender "Manchester by the Sea." He also stars in Legendary's action fantasy "The Great Wall," which has opened in China and will launch on Feb. 17 in the U.S.

"Father Daughter Time" has been in development since 2011 when Warner Bros. bought Matthew Aldrich's script of the drama and set it up with Damon and Affleck via their studio-based Pearl Street shingle with Chris Moore and Drew Vinton also producing. No actors are yet attached to the film.
