Lee Sung Kyung admitted her transition from being a model to actress was not a walk in the park as what many would say. In fact, the rising star of "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo" revealed she received criticisms for her past drama roles.

The 26-year-old celebrity started out as a model before paving her way to acting. Lee Sung Kyung made her acting debut with "It's Okay, That's Love" where she took the supporting role.

The model-turned-actress slowly introduced herself last year with several projects including drama series "Cheese in the Trap" and "Doctors." On top of that, Lee Sung Kyung also made it to the big screen for crime thriller "Broker."

She rose to fame after taking her first lead role in "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo." However, Lee Sung Kyung revealed her acting career was not all sunshine and rainbows.

According to Soompi, the model-turned-actress said many viewers were not pleased about her portrayal of In Ha in "Cheese in the Trap." But instead of letting the criticisms get under her skin, Lee Sung Kyung thought it was the best chance to reflect and learn.

"[In Ha's] presence in the drama was too strong, and that kind of personality was not what the viewers had in mind. I should've acted in a way that wouldn't overwhelm the audience," she said.

Lee Sung Kyung revealed she wants to be a trustworthy actress, adding that she is doing her best to act more sincerely for her supporters. In a separate interview with Korea Joongang Daily, the rising star said she tried to portray Kim Bok Joo's character realistically.

"I thought it would seem too much if I tried to look funny. So I put effort into becoming Kim Bok Joo in reality by following her routine, speech and attitude, which made me feel more comfortable while ad-libbing," Lee Sung Kyung cited.

She added being part "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo" felt like a dream for her, admiring the characteristics of her role as well as her co-actors.
