Suzy Bae has been receiving backlash from the netizens for her alleged "lolita-themed" photos from a pictorial back in 2015. However, JYP Entertainment immediately released a statement to put an end to the issue.

According to Allkpop, the photos were from "Suzy? Suzy" pictorial that featured children's books and crayons, which were deemed to be suggesting a lolita concept as per the netizens.

Many of them were infuriated to see the photos again, slamming the Miss A member and the people behind the photoshoot. "There's definitely some type of sex appeal going on here. Not necessarily lolita, but that whole prostitution/brothel vibe is present," a netizen wrote.

Another one said that even the camera angles and the place were likely suggesting that it was a lolita-themed photoshoot. On the other hand, Suzy Bae's fans came to defend her from the controversy.

Fans said the photographer previously addressed the issue, denying rumors that they have intended to produce lolita-themed materials for Suzy Bae's photobook. Others stated the photoshoot appeared retro to them, rather than a lolita.

JYP Entertainment came to the defense of the idol and said "[lolita is] not related whatsoever to Suzy or the photographer's original intent." The label added they are planning to take legal actions against those who will spread malicious comments about the photos.

Meanwhile, Suzy Bae finally made her solo debut with a pre-release track titled "Pretend" on Jan. 17. Koreaboo reported the song earned an all-kill on several Korean music charts swiftly after it was revealed.

The Miss A idol is also set to release her first EP "Yes? No" on Jan. 24, which will feature a total of six songs including "Pretend." Further reports stated Suzy Bae personally wrote the lyrics of two songs from her debut album.
