Living in the current generation where the main goal is to achieve a fit body and look your best brings around many trends that can keep the busy person healthy very easily. The trends could be in the form of exercises or daily intake of food.

The most common and basic step that people take is to make a change in their regular diet so that the changes in your body metabolism are more effective. The very popular vegan diet has caused many controversies about its effects on health and an incident has lead to further evaluations and debates about the effectiveness of the diet and its nutritive value.

The Egyptian Independent talks about the argument that is put forward by Neal Barnard, the president of the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine and an adjunct associate professor of medicine at the George Washington University that deals with the effectiveness of the vegan nutritive plan. He explains that the amount of protein present in vegetables, beans and grains is more than enough for the body to recover, as he gave examples of many animals like stallions, bulls, elephants, and giraffes that have an all vegan diet. The large animals build their massive bodies and repair the same every day with the protein obtained entirely from plant-based foods.

According to CNN, after an incident that had taken place on September 19, 2008, just before midnight in Columbia Metropolitan Airport in South Carolina, four people died during the fiery crash, including both pilots. The only two people that survived were the celebrity disc jockey DJ AM and Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker. When the drummer received burn on his body and was taken to the hospital, doctors recommended that he must leave his vegan diet because it does not provide the required amount of proteins for healing the body. His diet was changed to keep him healthy and recover faster and included many animal products.

Barnard argued about this incident by stating that a plant-based diet may actually be optimal during the healing process, helping the body regulate levels of inflammation that reduces chance of clogging the blood vessels during the process of recovering.
