In an episode of "Singdarella," Super Junior's Heechul appeared as one of the guests where he talked about the struggles he has to go through while training with SM Entertainment.

According to Allkpop, the Super Junior member even thought of quitting if not for three of his colleagues who asked him to go back and continue what he has started. "I was originally training to be the main vocalist of TRAX rather than as an idol trainee," Heechul said.

He went on, "At the time, my musical taste did not line up with SM producers, and I collided with them a bit. I always had to write letters of apology."

Heechul added he became disappointed and decided not to debut with TRAX. "So I returned to my hometown of Gangwondo. TRAX' Jungmo and Jay, TVXQ's Yunho, and Super Junior's Donghae convinced me to return to SM [Entertainment]."

The idol made his debut alongside eleven other members of Super Junior 05 on "Popular Songs" in 2005. After Kyuhyun joined the boy group, their band name was later changed into Super Junior.

Given his popularity as a member of Super Junior and as a solo artist, Heechul is aware that he has to act accordingly now that he is under the limelight. Soompi reported the idol even said he knows that many people dislike him; however, Heechul added he does not focus on them.

The Super Junior member said he would like to showcase his talents and capabilities with the hope that it will touch the lives of other people.

"I don't pay attention to the number of people who like or hate me, and I will continue to show my candid nature like I have up until now. I believe this is the basis of how I can bring joy to everyone," he said.
