Ha Ji Won is already a big star in South Korea. Thus, with the growing number of South Korean actors succeeding in American cinema, the "Empress Ki" star now has her sights on Hollywood.

While promoting her new movie "Life Risking Romance," Ha Ji Won was praised for her fluency in English, especially in scenes where she had to converse with co-star Chen Bo Lin who plays a Chinese-American character. She expressed gratitude for the recognition, and revealed that she studied English very hard while preparing for the film.

"I even had my English teacher alongside me on set. I felt that understanding what was going on would make learning English more interesting," Ha Ji Won said about the experience, Soompi quoted.

The interviewer then brought up the possibility of her entering Hollywood. She expressed her interest in pursuing a career in Hollywood, saying she would grab the opportunity of it arises.

Interestingly, Ha Ji Won was reported to have discussed with 20th Century Fox in 2014 regarding her Hollywood debut project. According to allkpop, Ha Ji Won met with 20th Century Fox's Jeffrey Godsick to talk about a possible project for her in the future. It was also reported that Godsick visited South Korea to praise Ha Ji Won's acting chops in "Empress Ki."

At that time, Ha Ji Won was repped by United Talent Agency for her U.S. activities and reportedly received casting offers for three Hollywood movies. Unfortunately, she had to turn them down because she was filming "Empress Ki" at the time.

Ha Ji Won was the first South Korean artist to sign with UTA, which is known as one of the largest talent agencies in the world. Among its prominent artists include Johnny Depp, Angelina Jolie, Alicia Vikander, Benedict Cumberbatch, Mark Ruffalo and Anthony Hopkins.  Since UTA handles a lot of the actors in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, perhaps Ha Ji Won could try out for a roles in the MCU? Fellow South Korean actress Claudia Kim made her Hollywood debut in "Avengers: Age of Ultron," paving the way for other South Korean actors and actress to do the same.
