Actor Ji Chang Wook recently sat down for an interview about his recently wrapped up tvN drama. "The K2" which stars Ji and Im Yoona wrapped up after airing 16 episodes.
On Nov. 14, during his interview, the 29-year old actor was asked about his future military enlistment plans. "I am expecting a summons sometime in February or March next year," Soompi reported.
The actor also revealed that the actual date for his enlistment will be unveil when it happens. "The K2" star further revealed that delaying the summons would be difficult and jokingly said "I will have to ask the mirror when my enlistment will be."
Concluding the interview, Ji said he might do one more project before he enlist for his mandatory military service. The mandatory military service or conscription in South Korea is mandatory to all citizens aged between 18 and 35 years old.
"The K2" started airing on tvN every Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m on Sept. 23. The drama then received positive reviews and praises for its action sequences, performances of the casts and plot twists.
On Nov. 12, the drama air its final episode and earned a rating of 5.4 percent, which is remarkably high for a drama airing in a cable network. Due its phenomenal success, the drama's broadcasting rights were sold to the streaming site DramaFever as well as to various countries including Vietnam, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, and Indonesia.
The drama depicts a former soldier for hire who is called the "K2 (Ji)" and was hired to be the bodyguard of a presidential candidate wife. However, the "K2" was assigned to guard the secret daughter (Im Yoona) of the presidential candidate. Later, the two slowly fall in love with each other making the "K2" torn between love and work.
