Another K-Pop artist has been rumored to be involved in Korea's political gaffe, and this time, it is former Girls' Generation member Jessica Jung.

Allkpop reported that Jessica Jung was allegedly involved with Choi Soon Sil, who has been controversial for reportedly receiving confidential information from President Park Shin Hye.

The rumors started when Congressman Ahn Min Suk revealed about a celebrity who is connected to Choi, adding that the celebrity has been given benefits because of Choi's influence in the entertainment industry.

Following the revelation, netizens started to come up with names of the celebrity linked to Choi, and unfortunately, Jessica Jung has been dragged to Korea's political scandal, forcing her agency to speak up on behalf of the artist.

"We want to state that our artist has nothing to do with Choi Soon Shil Gate and the mentioned celebrity related to the scandal," Coridel Entertainment said in a statement, adding that they will take legal actions against malicious online reports and posts.

The agency went on, "We are saddened to see that Jessica is being mentioned is this situation without any evidence and must take actions - especially since it is tied to a grave, national matter."

Coridel Entertainment is also asking online portals to delete reports and posts linking Jessica Jung to Choi, which has been a defamation to the image of the former Girls' Generation member.

Jessica Jung is not the first K-pop artist to be linked with the current gaffe in Korea's politics. Previously, Psy was accused of being involved to Choi, Korea Times reported. However, YG Entertainment immediately shoot down the rumors denying their artist's involvement in the scandal.

Meanwhile, fans are speculating that the "Gangnam Style" artist cancelled his TV appearances because of the issue despite YG Entertainment's claim that it was because of his hectic schedule.
