Red Velvet records the highest brand value in October; BLACKPINK, TWICE take 2nd and 3rd spots

Red Velvet ranked as the number one girl group in terms of brand value in October, surpassing BLACKPINK and TWICE who fell short at second and third spots.

According to Allkpop, the data was released by Korea Institute of Corporate Reputation, revealing Red Velvet's figures of 4,364,445. On the other hand, BLACKPINK has a total of 4,342,053 and TWICE recorded a total of 3,164,138 brand values.

Other girl groups who made it to the list include A Pink, Crayon Pop, IOI, G-Friend and Cosmic Girls. Aside from them, DIA, T-ara, Girls' Generation, MAMAMOO and Lovelyz were also in the ranking.

Meanwhile, Red Velvet's new single "Russian Roulette" remained on top on Soompi's Single Music Chart for the past three weeks. Other non-movers in the music chart include "The Love I Committed" by Lim Chang Jung at number 2 and BLACKPINK's "Whistle" at number 3.

The release of Red Velvet's "Russian Roulette" last month was a huge success, hitting the five million mark views on YouTube in just two days. The hit track is under their third EP of the same title alongside six other songs.

Red Velvet made their debut in 2014 under SM Entertainment with the release of a digital single titled "Happiness." The five-member girl group dropped their first full length album "The Red" the following year, which topped several music charts including Gaon Album Chart and Billboard World Albums Chart.

The girl group received a number of recognitions including Best Dance - Female as well as Best - Performance Female Group. Red Velvet was also awarded with three new artist awards and was given television appearances on "Weekly Idol," "Today's Room" and "We Got Married."
