Meanwhile, 45-year-old Ma is now considered the next actor to watch out for in Cannes Festival after his role on "Train To Busan." Although the actor failed to attend the prestigious event this year, his character in the film caught the attention of the viewers who were present during Cannes, Koreaboo noted.

"When I was filming [for my new project], the staff and actors who went [to the festival] texted me saying that everyone applauded whenever I was onscreen, I was so happy that I wanted to run over there right away. I'm still very happy that the movie did well," the actor said.

Ma started his career in 2005. He is popular for his roles on "The Neighbor," "Nameless Gangster: Rules Of The Time" and "The Unjust." He used to be the trainer of  Mark Coleman and Kevin Randleman on mixed martial arts.

He won the Best Supporting Actor award during the 49th Baeksang Arts Awards for his role on "The Neighbor." Aside from his appearance on the big screen, Ma also starred in several TV series including "Swallow The Sun," "Dr. Champ" and "Bad Guys."
