It must be tough being the highest paid actor in the world, because ever since Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson claimed that title, he has been busier than ever. Rumors are circling that the production for "G.I Joe 3" has been heavily delayed due to the actor's packed schedule.

Paramount has confirmed that "G.I Joe 3" is happening, but the long delay has been causing fans to question why there hasn't been a scheduled release date yet. Byung Hun Lee, Johnson's co-star and the actor who played Storm Shadow from the previous installments, revealed during an interview with LRM Online that scheduling the actors for the sequel has been a big challenge.

During the interview, Lee said that "I heard from the studio that there's a possibility to do the third one ["G.I Joe 3"], but I think they're waiting for the actors' schedules. They're arranging the schedules for the actors, especially Dwayne Johnson."

Presumably, Lee himself will be returning to "G.I Joe 3" as Storm Shadow, and the sequel will reportedly continue to focus on Johnson's lead role as Roadblock. So obviously, Paramount can't start filming without the lead actor himself.

In fact, Paramount would probably not consider moving forward without Johnson on board "G.I Joe 3" anyway. Screenrant reported that much of the success from "G.I Joe: Retaliation" came from the actor being in it. Aside from that, the actor's star has already been on the rise even before he joined the franchise.

But who can blame Johnson for his busy schedule? Let's face it. Before he can fully commit to "G.I Joe 3," he still needs to make sure that he finishes up all his other responsibilities. Right now, he is set to work on "Jumanji," and is also scheduled to promote his other movie in development such as "Fast 8," "Moana," and "Baywatch." He is also anticipated to star in Shane Black's "Doc Savage," and hopefully "Shazam."

So it looks like "G.I Joe" fans will have to wait for further updates, and until Johnson can clear up his schedule for "G.I Joe 3."
