Stanley Tucci confirms to return his role in Michael Bay's "Transformers: The Last Knight." He said this when he was in Deauvillle to receive a career tribute.
According to Variety, Tucci tipped that his anti-hero character Joshua Joyce will be back in the next installment of the "Transformers" franchise. He is the head of Kinetic Solutions Incorporated. He was a mild villain turned a good guy in "Transformers: Age of Extinction." He is expected to become a more central good character in the upcoming movie.
Tucci is the second cast member to recur from "Transformers: Age of Extinction" in 2014. In the finale of that film, he aligns with Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg) and the Autobots. The production of "Transformers: The Last Knight" has just started filming in London with Wahlberg, Laura Haddock, and Anthony Hopkins (undisclosed role).
The original stars joining them in "Transformers: The Last Knight" are Josh Duhamel (William Lennox) and Tyrese Gibson (Robert Epps). The franchise newcomers are Isabela Moner (Izabella), Jerrod Carmichael (undisclosed role), Mitch Pileggi (undisclosed role), Santiago Cabrera (undisclosed role), and Liam Garrigan (King Arthur).
"Transformers: The Last Knight" is the fifth film in the live-action film series. It is expected to be released on June 23, 2017. It will serve as a sequel to "Transformers: Age of Extinction." It will be a Paramount Pictures production.
During the event in Deauville, France's former culture minister and jury president Frédéric Mitterrand introduced the tribute to Tucci, as Irish Examiner reported. The tribute included clips of Tucci's career highlights, from "The Devil Wears Prada" to "The Lovely Bones" to "Margin Call" to "Hunger Games."
Tucci took the stage and addressed the recent terror attacks that have shaken both France and the United States. He emphasized that the cinema is a collaborative art form that can bring the people all together and bring some positivity to life.
