Tech giant Microsoft recently rolled out a new test build for the Windows 10 Redstone 2 for Mobile and PC. As with all the company's previous roll outs, the new update will be received first by Windows Insiders who are in the Fast Ring.

The update was released on Aug. 31, and was tagged Build 14915. Most of the contents of the new update are fixes for notable bug, since the Redstone 2 update is still in its early development phase.

One of the notable fixes pointed out by many testers patches the bug regarding the text-to-speech functionality of Cortana. Compatibility issues regarding Google, Yahoo Mail, and Skype Translator were also addressed.

Based on the changelog provided by Microsoft, the latest update also addressed the issue regarding the power button not working when on the Start menu. The issue about the Settings app crashing due to a missing .dll file was also fixed.

Since the latest roll out is a preview build, it includes a number of bugs and issues as well. There are reports claiming that the Bash shell support was rendered totally inoperable by the update, although some testers were able to provide a workaround to this issue.

On the Mobile platform, the issue about apps getting stuck when transferring apps between an SD card and internal storage was fixed. The complete list of improvements and fixes brought by the Windows 10 Redstone 2 Build 14915 update is posted on the official Windows Blog.

Along with the latest update, Microsoft also released a new Cumulative Update for the Windows 10 Anniversary Update. The latest Cumulative Update build 14393.105 brings performance, and reliability enhancements, but no brand new feature.

According to ZDNet, Microsoft has yet to confirm what major upgrades or features the upcoming Redstone 2 update will bring. Rumors claim that Redstone 2 is just one of the two Windows 10 Redstone upgrades that are slated to be released in 2017.
