Apple has announced its September event where it is expected to release new iPhone. However, the technology company may hold up its Mac lineup refresh till October. It is also expected that the iMac models will be updated with new AMD graphics chips.

According to MacRumors, new MacBook Pro is expected to be equipped with an OLED based touchscreen strip. This strip will display the functions compatible with the current running application. The laptop is likely to have integrated Touch ID to facilitate fingerprint scanning. Pro is also expected to be thinner with a flatter keyboard.

MacBook Air, on the other hand, is said to be sporting USB-C ports with multipurpose functioning. This addition may also enable Thunderbolt 3. Bloomberg reports that Apple is collaborating with LG to develop a standalone display. The company discontinued its 27 inch Thunderbolt display earlier this year. It currently offers iMac with 5K panel, providing seven times the pixels displayed by 1080p format.

Apple is also said to be looking to stem the declining demand for iPad. The new software update is expected to boost support for Apple Pencil, a drawing and handwriting stylus. These updates may be available next year. Apple's iPad Pro is also seeing renewed interest in the market and the new features may increase their productivity further for business purposes.

Apple is also mulling over letting iPad Pro users annotate objects across various apps including Safari browser and Mail. This function is already available on phones such as Samsung Note. Currently, Apple supports stylus on select apps which are specifically designed for this purpose.
