'Outlander' Season 3 air date, news & update: Aussie actor David Berry joins the cast; Actor to play Lord John William Grey

While Charlie Hunnam is rumored to join Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe in "Outlander" Season 3, Australian actor David Berry is confirmed to play the role of Lord John William Grey.

Starz and Sony Pictures Television revealed Berry's participation in the film that is known to Australian viewers for his role as James Bligh in "A Place to Call Home". He was also into hosting TV and stage and played John Wilkes Booth in a journey production of "Assassins."

According to Coming Soon, Lord John William Grey's character is a reputable and unfaltering British citizen, caught between a model sense of marital obligation and a robust moral compass of determining right from wrong. Lord Grey is youthfully handsome with a noble breeding. In spite of his greatness, a disgrace from his past demoted him to a detrimental position appointing him as a governor of a desecrate Northern Scotland prison.

"Outlander" Season 3 is based on Diana Gabaldon's third book, Voyager which embarks on Lord John William Grey's adulthood. The movie has been renewed for another two more seasons where the fourth season will be sourced on "Drums of Autumn".

''Outlander'' is like nothing seen before on television. From its depiction of a truly powerful female lead character to the devastating decimation of the Highlander way of life, to what is a rarely seen genuine and timeless love story, it is a show that not only transports the viewer but inspires the passion and admiration of its fans," Variety quoted Starz CEO Chris Albrecht as saying.

Executive Producer Ronald D. Moore advanced the "Outlander" series adaptation. It is produced by Story Mining and Supply Company, Tall Ship Productions, and Left Bank Pictures in assemblage with Sony Pictures Television. "Outlander" Season 3 is slated to premiere next year.
