The Milwaukee Bucks have reportedly signed veteran free agent combo guard Jason Terry to a one-year, veteran minimum's deal on Monday.

The 38-year-old shooting guard was Bucks head coach Jason Kidd's teammate during their NBA championship run with the Dallas Mavericks in 2010-2011.

USA Today reported that Milwaukee announced the agreement on Monday with general manager John Hammond saying that Terry is "a true professional who understands what it takes to be successful" in the world's premier basketball league.

The former NBA Sixth Man of the Year awardee had suited up for the Houston Rockets in the past two seasons playing both the point guard and shooting guard positions and had remained a key role player that comes off the bench.

Terry also sometimes starts for the Rockets when the injury bug hits their backcourt and he has proven that he can still perform at a high level despite his age.

He averaged 5.9 points, 1.1 rebounds, and 1.4 assists, the lowest of his career, playing in only 17.5 minutes a night last season for Houston.

Terry is entering his 18th season in the NBA this October. Aside from the Rockets, he also played for the Atlanta Hawks, Dallas Mavericks, Boston Celtics, and Brooklyn Nets.

His most memorable season was in 2010-2011 when he helped Dirk Nowitzki lead the Mavericks to the NBA title against the then Miami Heat Big Three of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh.

Terry was most productive, though, during his time with Atlanta, where he spent his first five seasons in the league, as he was one of the main players in the squad at that time.

Coach Kidd is said to be excited about having his former teammate in the squad in the upcoming season and reportedly expressed his trust that Terry can still provide a lot for his team.

"Jason will bring veteran leadership and shooting," said Kidd, as per Sports Illustrated. "He's a true pro on and off the court. Off the bench for sure he will help us with his knowledge. And I think he has some gas left."

Terry has averaged 14.3 points, 2.4 boards, 4.1 dimes, and 1.2 steals in 1,285 games in 17 seasons so far as a pro. He is also an excellent playoffs contender, averaging 15.0 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 3.2 assists in his 11 appearances in the postseason.
