Wish granted for BLACKPINK fans as they will now have the chance to get to know their idols even closer through the girl group's first-ever variety show called "BLACKPINK TV" that premiers August 25 via web portal Naver.

According to Allkpop, "BLACKPINK TV" is YG Entertainment's way of thanking the fans for their all-out support to the newly-formed girl group. "Though we are overwhelmed by the response, we believe it's a form of interest. We are truly thankful and thankful again. By kicking off "BLACKPINK TV," we will bring our artists to you through a diverse array of content," the agency announced.

Reports stated that the first episode will serve as the test run of "BLACKPINK TV" that was broadcasted on "Inkigayo" last week. Perhaps the variety show will open more doors for BLACKPINK as they are starting to create their mark in the music industry considering that the girl group is less than a month old.

Just recently, their singles "Whistle" and "BOOMBAYAH" won the numbers one and three on SBS program "Inkigayo," outshining IOI's "Whatta Man." BLACKPINK is consists of members Kim Ji Soo, Jennie Kim, Roseanne Park Lisa who came from South Korea, New Zealand, Australia and Thailand respectively.

Meanwhile, days before the announcement of "BLACKPINK TV," an insider of YG Entertainment revealed the agency is reportedly planning for a variety show with SBS, YG United noted. The insider added that the agency and the broadcasting company have reached an agreement to work together for the project. "The public will be able to watch a variety show that YG has created very soon," the insider said.

Although there were no specifications mentioned, this should be exciting as YG Entertainment holds some of the most popular idols in the music industry including BIGBANG, 2NE1, iKON, WINNER and of course, BLACKPINK.
