BLACKPINK topped the recent episode of music program 'Inkigayo' for their performance of "Whistle," surpassing IOI's "Whatta Man," which fell short at second place, while the third place was also bagged by BLACKPINK's "BOOMBAYAH" on Sunday.

According to Soompi, some performers who appeared in the recent episode of the SBS music program include Oh My Girl, NCT 127, VIXX, HyunA, EXO and Cosmic Girls who are making their comeback. Aside from that, Onew of SHINee, Sandeul of B1A4, Taeil of Block B and Ken of VIXX graced the stage of "Inkigayo" for their special performances.

"Inkigayo" is a SBS program that features some of the newest or most popular Kpop artists or groups, who will perform some of their hits on stage. Meanwhile, BLACKPINK debuted on August 8 with the release of their two singles "Whistle" and "BOOMBAYAH" under "Square One" album.

BLACKPINK is the second girl group of YG Entertainment after the agency formed 2NE1 in 2009. Although the band is new in the music industry, BLACKPINK is slowly creating a name as they became the first Kpop girl group to top Billboard's World Digital Songs with their singles "BOOMBAYAH" and "Whistle" at numbers 1 and 2 spots respectively, Billboard reported.

The girl group is composed of Kim Ji Soo who was born and raised in Korea, Jennie Kim who was raised in New Zealand, Roseanne Park who was born and raised in Australia and Thai Lisa Manoban who is the first non-Korean artist under YG Entertainment.

BLACKPINK made their first-ever music show performance on August 14 on SBS program "Inkigayo."

Watch BLACKPINK's performance of their single "Whistle" on "Inkigayo" aired on August 21.
