Ashley Rickards has joined the cast of "The Flash" Season 3 in a villainous role.
The actress, known for her role on "Awkward," has been tapped to play the female version of DC's The Top, TV Line reported. Also known as Rosalind "Rosa" Dillon, her ability to make people's head spin will be the main source of headache for Barry Allen on "The Flash" Season 3. She is set to make her debut in episode 4 of the new season.
The Top's arrival on Central City is not the only foreshadowing plot of destruction for Team Flash. In the same hour, exec producers Todd and Aaron Helbing revealed to E! News that the origin story of the Mirror Master (Grey Damon) and the return of Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) will also unfold. Previewing the duo's interaction on "The Flash" Season 3, they hint that a battle will ensue between the two.
"It's kind of the origin of Mirror Master...We're really excited," said Aaron.
"It's the origin story of him, but it's this struggle between Mirror Master and Captain Cold and you get to see who comes out on top," Todd added.
Rickards join previously cast Susan Walters (The Vampire Diaries) as Caitlin Snow's mother and Tom Felton (Harry Potter) as fellow CSI member Julian Dorn on "The Flash" Season 3. This marks Rickards' latest new project after playing Jenna Hamilton on MTV's Awkward for five seasons. She also appeared in two episodes of "American Horror Story" Season 1.
"The Flash" Season 3 premieres on Tuesday, Oct. 4 at 8PM on the CW.
