Lee Hye-ri, from Korean girl group Girl's Day, will co-host "Idol Star Athletics Championship" with Jun Hyun-moo and Lee Soo-geun. The show is an annual sporting event between Korean idols, and will be held starting Aug. 29 on MBC.

Idol Star Athletic Championship (ISAC) began in 2010 during Chuseok, a Korean thanksgiving day. On Aug. 17, MBC decided to appoint Lee as co-host of the event, Soompi reported. In its official announcement, an MBC representative shared, "Jun Hyun Moo, Lee Soo Geun, and Hyeri have been confirmed as the MCs for the 'Idol Star Athletics Championships.'"

According to Officially K-Music, ISAC kicked off in 2010 on MBC as an athletic event. Along the years another sports event were added. Now it also includes archery, athletics, futsal, and wrestling.

This year's show will also be held in a different format. The show will be aired as a single episode, rather than a two part special like the previous years.

Lee was selected as co-host with two other male partners because of her high energy and liveliness. On top of that, her professional style of reporting has made her a viewers' favorite. Prior to this duty, she was a host of the Lunar New Year special in MBC. Producers in the TV station also loved her in reporting style.

Lee is a member of Girl's Day girl group which debuted in 2010. She joined the group with another member, Yura, two months after the group's debut to replace two members Jisun and Jiin. Girl's Day is now one of the most famous group in Korea and Japan.

In 2013, Plan Korea, the branch of Plan International relief organization in Korea, appointed Girl's Day as its ambassador. The members spent time in Thailand to do voluntary work on behalf of the organization.

Girl's Day is currently managed by Dream Tea Entertainment, a subsidiary of the large agency Imagine Asia Co., Ltd.
