In the aftermath of torrential rains and showers, massive flooding greatly devastates the state of Louisiana. Taylor Swift, who once performed in the affected region during her 1989 World Tour in Louisiana, generously donates $1 million to Louisianans.

On Tuesday, Swift released a statement suggesting how she received a warm welcome from her Louisiana fans and to show her gratitude she pledges to help them by donating such huge amount.

"We began The 1989 World Tour in Louisiana, and the wonderful fans there made us feel completely at home," Swift said. "The fact that so many people in Louisiana have been forced out of their own homes this week is heartbreaking."

It was reported on Tuesday that 11 people already died because of the raging flood that persuaded authorities to announce disasters in the 20 county-like areas of the US southeastern state. The destructive flooding displaced about 40,000 homes, according to Mail Online.

People registering Federal Emergency Management Agency disaster aid reached to more than 60,000, says Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards' office.

The flood began on Friday after the heavy downpour and on the same day, more than 30,000 residents are already rescued with more people being saved by the hour.

The "Blank Space" singer had various donations the past year. She gave $50,000 to The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in 2014 to assist funding of therapy tools for cancer-patient children. She also donated $50,000 to a young fan who's fighting leukemia and another $50,000 for her dancer's baby nephew who has cancer.

In other news, President Barack Obama declared a state of emergency on Sunday that will provide federal assistance for some parishes mostly affected by the raging flood, The Huffington Post reported.

The controversial Swift is in New York while her new love Tom Hiddleston is busy filming his movie "Thor: Ragnarok" in Australia.
