"Teen Wolf" star Colton Haynes opens up his true sexuality to the public as being gay. Unfortunately, his father William Clayton Haynes committed suicide after the news spreads out.

Colton revealed in an interview with a certain magazine that growing up in Kansas is the place where he could not be gay which led him to hide his true sexuality and develops severe anxiety. He decided to come out to his family and classmates when he was still 14, but it did not go well. His mother did not accept it. He was bullied by the students in school, E! News reported. He rebelled and stayed with a friend. At that time, he found out that his father committed suicide.

According to Daily Mail, Colton received a call from one of his relatives that his father committed suicide in a way of swallowing 40 oxycodone pills. The "Arrow" actor feels pity because he was never close to his father ever since he was a kid. He said that his father was married seven times and got a divorce to his mother Dana Denise Mitchell.

Colton wonders why people blame him for his father's death when, in fact, it was his loss after all and no one knows the truth. When his mother and his brother went to pick up his dad's stuff, they found out that his grade eight graduation photo is the only image left in his father's fridge.

Colton told in another interview that for the sake of his career, he hid his gay identity. He feels bad because he had to lie for so long. However, he was told that lying was the only way for him to be successful. He also gave an advice that if a beginner starts in the industry, people around the aspiring celebrity will take advantage to make those dreams come true literally.

Colton pursued his career in acting at the age of 17 in Los Angeles. He confirmed in an interview back in May that he is doing a recurring role in the upcoming "Scream Queens" Season 2 featuring Billie Lourd, Emma Roberts, Keke Palmer, Lea Michele, and Abigail Breslin. The movie series will premiere on September 20 on Fox TV.
