TWICE, EXID made surprise performance on 'Real Men'

On this Sunday's Real Men comedian special, girl groups EXID! and TWICE made a surprise performance. Cast members and soldiers went wild in responding an impromptu performance from two of the today's hottest girl groups in Korea.

EXID and TWICE appeared in the August 14's episode of the "Real Men" aired on MBC. Neither cast members and soldiers in the military base expected such surprise. According to Soompi, some soldiers, "come up right under the stage and bust out dancing; others burst into tears in joy."

EXID was performing their hits "Ah Yea" and "Up Down," while TWICE sung "Cheer Up" and "OOH-AHH."

"Real Men" cast members and all soldiers in the military base were very excited to have both girl groups appeared on stage. They started to dance as the group took the stage.

Variety show "Real Men" is aired in MBC since 2013. The show was endorsed by the government to increase the awareness of its citizen on the importance of mandatory military service in South Korea.

The variety show involved eight celebrities in the real military base and experiencing military life.

TWICE is a new girl group from the K-Pop giant JYP Entertainment. Formed in 2015 as a multinational group, consist of members from South Korea,Japan, and Taiwan. The group was formed through the Mnet's reality show Sixteen in 2015.

During the sixteen reality show, which premiered on May 5, sixteen contestants were selected through their singing and dancing skills. Nine members were selected after the 10th episode ended on July 7, 2015.

In less than a year, TWICE is now one of the hottest girl group in K-Pop. Their popularity even soared to America. As Billboard reported, Twice was one of the hottest act in KCON LA earlier this month.

While EXID which was formed in 2012 was known for their "Up and Down" song last year. The song gained
international recognition in KBS2 "The Return of Superman" variety show. In the show, actor Song Il Gook used the song to teach his triplet sons to brush their teeths. The girl group is managed under Banana Culture agency and has a huge fans in China and Taiwan.

Next September, EXID will visit Taiwan to greet their fans there as Korea Times reported.
