A month before the premiere of "Lucifer" Season 2, FOX has released the official plot details of the new season. In other news, the show has added "The Sopranos" alum Michael Imperioli to play the role of Uriel.

According to the press release shared by KSiteTV, "Lucifer" Season 2 will find Amenadiel (DB Woodside) and Lucifer (Tom Ellis) teaming up to find their mother Charlotte (Tricia Helfer), who has escaped hell. The job of Lucifer at the LAPD will also go through some changes with the arrival of Ella Lopez (Aimee Garcia), a smart and tough forensic scientist. Her belief in faith and science will develop as a point of interest to Lucifer, the network previewed.

Elsewhere, Dr. Linda Martin (Rachael Harris) is also getting a beefed-up storyline on "Lucifer" Season 2. While she continues her role in Lucifer's life as a confidante and as a therapist, viewers will later see her facing some real problems of her own. Even worse, the network teased that she is likely to seek a therapist to overcome her yet-to-be-known issues.

In other "Lucifer" news, TV Line reported that the show has recruited "The Sopranos" alum Michael Imperioli to join Season 2 as the angel Uriel. The casting was announced by executive producer Ildy Modrovich at the Television Critics Association (TCA) press tour on Monday. Imperioli joins previously cast Tricia Helfer and Aimee Garcia who both joined the cast as series regulars.

"Amenadiel is the older brother, Lucifer is the little brother who got all the attention, and Uriel is the one lost in the middle," showrunner Joe Henderson told the publication.

"He's got a chip on his shoulder, and that will be a big part of him coming down."

"Lucifer" Season 2 premieres on Monday, Sept. 19 at 9PM on FOX.
