Following the success of "Suicide Squad" at the box office, there is now an ongoing discussion at FOX to bring the characters from the hit franchise on "Gotham" Season 3. The DC movie, starring Will Smith and Margot Robbie, recorded a total of $135.1 million on its debut.

According to Entertainment Weekly, "Gotham" executive producer John Stephens addressed at the Television Critics Association (TCA) press tour on Monday the possible appearances of the "Suicide Squad" villains in Season 3 of the "Batman" prequel. Stephens revealed to reporters that viewers should expect to see "proto-versions" of some characters in the upcoming season slated to premiere this fall.

"We'll see a proto-Killer Croc version," Stephens said.

"And we'll be seeing a character - perhaps not this season, but in times to come - who can be a forerunner for Harley Quinn."

As for the character of proto-Killer Croc, portrayed by Adewale Akinnouye-Agbaje on the film, Stephens said that the small screen version will not necessarily mirror the same path of his arc in the movie. Subsequently, "Gotham" will need to cast another actor to play the aforementioned villain in Season 3.

"If you see someone who has a scientific anomaly to their skin that it grows in a certain way, 'Oh, I'm going to take that and grow Killer Croc from that in the future,'" Stephens teased.

"Gotham" Season 3 will also feature a grown-up Poison Ivy. The character, which was originally played by Clare Foley in the first two seasons, has been replaced by Maggie Geha. According to TV Guide, Stephens explained that the decision to recast the character was significant because Ivy is known for her seductive powers to get whatever she wants.

"Transforming Ivy early in the season allowed us to play to a lot of those abilities that Ivy has, while playing the fun of someone trapped in a body that isn't theirs."

"Gotham" stars Ben McKenzie, Donal Logue, Morena Baccarin, Michael Chiklis, Sean Pertwee and Robin Lord Taylor. Season 3 premieres on Monday, Sept. 19 at 8PM on FOX.
