"Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon," the first-person shooting game published by Ubisoft in 2013 for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360, can now be played on the Xbox One through Backward Compatibility.

"Blood Dragon" is the eight title in "Far Cry" game series, and while it is an expansion to "Far Cry 3," it can be played without the original game. Set in 2007 after a nuclear war, gamers play as Sgt. Rex Colt who is investigating the soldier-turned-rogue Col. Sloan. They can use different weapons like guns and explosives to complete the main mission, and they can also tackle side missions and collect hidden items.

The game is the newest title in the Xbox One Backward Compatible games list, and is the first from the "Far Cry" series. It is, however, not the first for Ubisoft. Their other backward compatible games include "Assassin's Creed" and "Assassin's Creed II," "Call of Juarez Gunslinger," "Might and Magic Clash of Heroes," "Prince of Persia," "Rayman," "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas," among others.

Aside from Ubisoft, games from other companies are also included in the Xbox Backward Compatible list of games. On Aug. 2, they included Bandai Namco's "Mr. Driller Online" and "New Rally X" as well as Cave's "Nin2Jump."

In July, Xbox added: "CAPCOM Arcade Cabinet," "Bionic Commando Rearmed 2," and "Flock!" by CAPCOM; "Boom Boom Rocket" from EA; "Crystal Defenders" by Square Enix; "Fret Nice" by TECMO; "Triggerheart Exelica," "Half-Minute Hero - Super Mega Neo Climax" and "Interpol" by Microsoft Studios; "Neogeo Battle Coliseum" by SNK Playmore; "Pac-Man Museum" and "Syberia" by Bandai Namco; "Red Dead Redemption" by Rockstar Games; "Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode I" and "Sonic 4 Episode II" by SEGA; and "Tour de France 2009" by Focus Home Interactive.

According to Major Nelson, the titles of Xbox 360 Backward Compatible games (digital) appear in the section for "Ready to Install." Once installed, they will appear in the Games Section. Disc-based games, meanwhile, can be installed by simply inserting the disc into the Xbox One. The console will automatically download the game into the hard drive, but the disc should be kept inserted during gameplay.
