Fans of the "Dragon Ball" franchise are undoubtedly excited to find out what's going to happen in "Dragon Ball Super" Episode 54. There are speculations that it will be centered on Trunks, but then again, it could be Gohan or another character altogether.
The episode is titled "Inheritor of Saiyan Blood: Trunks Resolve," so that already gives a clue that Trunks will play a big part in the upcoming installment. Even the trailer focuses on Trunks and his training under his father, Vegeta. According to Yibada, this could mean that the young man is about to face some hardship or trouble in the next episode or in the near future.
However, the question still remains on who exactly is being referred to as the heir of the blood of the alien race. Trunks and Gohan are best bet, but an entirely new character with Saiyan roots just might be introduced.
Episode 54 could also explore deeper into the real identity of Black Goku. His relationship with Zamasu might be tackled further in the episode and perhaps even reveal why he despises the Saiyans.
Whis and Beerus deem that Black Goku possesses ki that is similar to a disciple of the Supreme Kai of Universe 10, and it could be that he and Zamasu are the same individual. Still, there is no proof of this just yet.
"Though they know that Zamasu and Black have extraordinary similar Ki, they are unable to obtain any proof that the two are the same person," Yibada quotes the episode's synopsis, taken from Reddit. "Meanwhile, Vegeta tells the Trunks from the future 'I'm going to give you some training'."
Moreover, Black Goku is said to be able to transform into what is called "Super Saiyan Pink," according to Saiyan Island. However, it is unclear if this will be featured in the anime series since this design is reportedly meant for a candy to be released in Japan.
"Dragon Ball Super" Episode 54, "Inheritor of Saiyan Blood: Trunks Resolve," will be shown on Aug. 7.
