Tesla Motors new battery manufacturing facility is a Gigafactory located in Reno, Nevada. A group of reporters was invited to have a glimpse around Tesla's new facility and its foreseen future innovation on July 26, Tuesday.

Tesla has built the Gigafactory factory in partnership with Panasonic, the main company that provides battery cells for all Tesla cars. Panasonic has invested almost $2-billion in the said factory and it is believed to be the largest battery manufacturing plant to date. While Panasonic contributed a significant amount for the setting up of the facility, the company's logo is reportedly nowhere to be found in the factory.

The Tesla Motors' Gigafactory factory is a $5-billion worth 3,200 acre manufacturing facility. The plant is already operational and has begun manufacturing batteries. However, Tesla's factory will not operate to its full capacity until around 2020. One of the advantages of building the factory in Nevada is that it will be able to cut the production cost by up to 30 percent, CNN Money reported.

During the Gigafactory tour, some machineries are still being moved around the facility. Some information is still off limits and the tour guide is not allowed to give details in some areas of the factory. There is a section where Panasonic will manufacture the cells and upon completion will deliver the cells to Tesla.

The Tesla Gigafactory factory will play a significant role for Tesla in the coming years as Tesla's product line will continue to grow. Currently, Tesla cars and Tesla power wall are some of its products that require batteries. Tesla is planning to include electric buses and trucks to further expand its product line.

The Tesla Gigafactory is already impressive as it is, BBC reported. However, Tesla's CEO Elon Musk is reportedly not yet contented with one Gigafactory. According to reports, he is to put a Gigafactory in the same region where there is a huge amount of demand for Tesla products. Watch a drone capture of the Tesla Gigafactory here.
