Bollywood Actor Saif Ali Khan To Star In The Remake of Hollywood Film 'Chef'

Saif Ali Khan will be cooking mouth-watering Indian food on the big screen. The Bollywood actor was chosen to star as the lead character for the remake of the Hollywood film "Chef" in India.  

"I'm delighted to see 'Chef' get an Indian remake," Favreau said on a statement following the announcement (via iBN Live). "I'm excited to see how this personal film translates to the Indian culture. The themes of food, music, and family should resonate well."

The Bollywood version will be produced by Abundantia Entertainment with Eros international and Alumbra Entertainment. 

The original film originating from North America was written, produced, and directed by Jon Favreau. He also starred as the lead character Carl Casper who, after losing his job at a popular restaurant in LA, returned to his hometown and started a food truck business. He and his son traveled across the U.S. while selling Cubanos kin key cities along the way.

The surprise summer hit boasted of cameos from famous and recognizable Hollywood actors like Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Dustin Hoffman, Sofia Vergara, and more. 

Vikram Malhotra, the founder of Abundantia Entertainment, has nothing but good words to say about Khan. He has high hopes that the Bollywood actor, one of the finest in the region, will be able to helm the character and bring the film to life. 

The Indian Express reported that the script of the Bollywood remake is already being written. Filming is expected to begin soon.

The upcoming version of "Chef" will be modified with Indian food while keeping the charm and essence of the original at heart. Eros International will distribute the adaptation internationally.
