Matt Damon recently shared that he is not interested in playing James Bond and prefers his character Jason Bourne, saying the latter is more real and relatable.

According to Headlines and Global News, there is a very big difference between the two, despite sharing the same initials. The actor states that while there are similarities between the two characters, Jason Bourne is not parallel to James Bond.

The actor, who played Jason Bourne in 3 films, seem to be the exception as a lot of actors would be scrambling to play the iconic spy character introduced by Ian Fleming.

According to the Damon, he thinks his character is better than James Bond as Bourne is more realistic and relatable, adding that Bond is from the 60's era and is a misogynist who swills martinis and kills people without thought. On the other hand, he described Bourne as someone modern, and has only loved one woman, clearly referring to Bond's penchant for having a lot of women.

Damon also stated that Jason Bourne is a serial monogamist and that Bourne feels empathy and compassion for other people, and is clearly tortured by the things he did, according to ENews.

Damon has been down this road before, bashing James Bond since 2007, particularly about the latter's treatment of Women and for being a one dimensional character. In fact, even Daniel Craig, who starred as Bond, clearly disapproves of Bond's womanizing ways, calling it out several times.

Damon will reprise his role of Jason Bourne in this year's highly anticipated movie "Jason Bourne" which is slated to hit theaters July 29.
