Song Joong Ki and Lee Min Ho are two of the most sought-after South Korean celebrities in recent times. The two actors are equally good looking and possess fine acting chops that garnered them massive followings all across the globe. They also share a controversial common denominator, and that is being linked to top actress Song Hye Kyo.

A past interview with Lee Min Ho caused a stir among fans as he revealed that Song Hye Kyo is his ideal type. The 29-year-old actor mentioned that he wanted to work with the "Descendants of the Sun" star. "I would like to work with my ideal type, Song Hye Kyo. Although she has an elegant and classic style, her charisma is also strong and her acting talent is outstanding," Lee said, as quoted by Drama Fever.

This gave birth to the fan-created couple name "MinKyo" and requests to have both stars appear together in a project. With "MinKyo" being pitted against the "Song Song" couple, Song Joong Ki loyalists are backing him up.

One clear advantage Song Joong Ki has over Lee Min Ho is his proficiency in Chinese. While interacting with Chinese fans on his Asia tour, Song Joong Ki easily converses with fans in Chinese. According to Soompi, Song Joong Ki explained that he learned how to speak Chinese through his older brother, who studied in Beijing for eight years. "Through this influence, I studied Chinese as well," Song said.

On the other hand, Lee Min Ho previously admitted that he has difficulty speaking in Chinese. During the promotion of "Bounty Hunters" in China, he said that although he really wanted to communicate with fans in Chinese, he found it difficult to do.

Song Joong Ki's ability to communicate in Chinese puts him at an advantage, especially in Chinese-speaking countries. Because of this skill, Song Joong Ki's popularity in China has eclipsed than that of Lee Min Ho.

In the meantime, Lee Min Ho is slated to star in an upcoming drama series with actress Jun Ji Hyun. The project, temporarily titled "Legend of the Blue Sea," is inspired by a Korean folk legend. The story is written by "My Love From The Star" screenwriter Park Ji Eun.
