TV, movie and music personalities are strong mediums in promoting Korean fashion. These celebrities show glamour, sophistication, and taste wherever they appear in public.
The successful 2015 Seoul Fashion Week showcased another set of genius Korean fashion trends from designers and brands like MAG & LOGAN, the studio K, LIE SANG BONG and Lucky Chouette.
Seoul should be considered as a strong fashion house in Asia because of its consumers. Koreans love luxury, branded goods and signature pieces and are into "high fashion."
Famous brand Chanel even chose Seoul over Paris as the runway venue of his May 2015 Cruise Collection.
Bruno Pavlovsky, Chanel's president of fashion, explained in an interview why they picked Seoul. Pavlovsky's answer was "We chose Seoul for a few reasons. Firstly, as an inspiration [but] there's also a business reason. South Korea is a fast-growing market, a very interesting one, now also open to the Chinese and Japanese.
Recently, a survey released by Global Language Monitor for the Top Global Fashion Capitals showed that Seoul ranked number 56th in the world and 5th in East Asia. Paris topped worldwide and Tokyo reigned in Asia.
With the recent fashion activities, recognition and K-Pop invasions, Seoul is expected to climb up the ladder of global fashion.
