The tapes revolve among classmates who are discussed on them, those secrets were revealed including stalking, bullying and two scenarios of rapes. The audience enters the pictures when they found out there was a box of cassettes arrived at the doorstep of Clay Jensen, Hannah's Friend, co-worker and romantic interest.

"13 Reasons Why" will pick up in the aftermath of Hannah's death as well as the scenes being described in the tapes.

"Hannah's story is not yet over, there are still more thrills to be unfolded," the synopsis writes. "There is a rapist who has not been brought to justice, and a living victim survived and recovered from the incident.
