Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder are expecting! Reed and Somerhalder, who are popularly known for portraying hot vampires on "Twilight" and "The Vampire Diaries," respectively, announced recently that they are expecting their first child.
Somerhalder made the big reveal on his Instagram by posting a photo of him kissing his wife's now prominent baby bump. "In my 38 years on this earth I've never experienced anything more powerful and beautiful than this," the actor wrote.
The pair revealed that they wanted to keep the pregnancy a secret as long as they could, just so they could enjoy the moment together. Reed also posted the same photo on her Instagram account, with a letter to her child saying her love for her child is "the strongest feeling" she's ever felt.
The gender of the baby was not revealed. However, fans speculated that the couple is probably expecting a baby boy due to the color of the actress' dress in the photo, which chambray blue.
Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder got married in 2015 after six months of dating. The couple celebrated their second wedding anniversary last month. "Navigating the waters of life with you is the greatest and most rewarding adventure I've ever known," Reed wrote to his husband.
Throughout their marriage, Reed and Somerhalder have been parenting multiple pets including dogs, cats and a horse.
In an interview with E! News in April 2016, Reed revealed that her husband and she have been talking about having children, and that she hopes their kids will love the planet as much as they do.
Earlier this year, Reed and Somerhalder's relationship was met with a firestorm of break up rumors and rumors of a feud between Reed and Nina Dobrev, Somerhalder's ex and "The Vampire Diaries" co-star. The couple shut down the rumors by posting a photo with Dobrev on Instagram, and highlighting how important it is to stop writing negative headlines about women.
