"Grey's Anatomy" is definitely the most watched TV series of all time. However, it also have a number of great dead characters, which were killed by its writer, Shonda Rhimes and it is something she regrets as per Ellen Pompeo.

According to a recent report from Refinery29, the writer of "Grey's Anatomy," Shonda Rhimes regrets killing Kyle Chandler in the hit TV show. Ellen Pompeo spills the details even if Chandler's death as he played Dylan became one of the most iconic episodes of the series.

"I remember thinking Kyle Chandler was amazing. I was not surprised his career really took off after that because he was so natural," Pompeo says. "He would pitch me ideas on how Dylan, his character, could maybe not explode. I would show him the line in the script that said, 'Dylan explodes.' That is literally all it said. He was written to explode."

Comicbook stated that fans of "Grey's Anatomy" reportedly loved the scene of Chandler and it is believed to be one of the memorable episodes of the hit TV show. Plus, Rhimes also loved Chandler and the way he worked, which is why she admitted that she regrets killing him.

Chandler has reportedly been sharing some ideas on how his character could live, but Rhimes still killed his character. Pompeo even feels that their lives in "Grey's Anatomy" might have changed if Dylan lived and did not explode.

"I did not expect to have Kyle Chandler," Rhimes admitted. "I did not want to explode him."

Although, Chandler lost his chance to become a regular character in "Grey's Anatomy" yet he gained hit shows like "Friday Night Lights" and even "Bloodline." There is no doubt that his character in "Grey's Anatomy" opened up a lot of career opportunities for him.

"Grey's Anatomy" has been renewed for season 14, which means fans will still see more of the show until 2018.
