"The Walking Dead" season 8 fans are waiting for a new story from Rick and his team. After seeing Rick played by Andrew Lincoln fight against Negan, will we see him survive in the next season?

A recent report from Heroic Hollywood unveils that Andrew Lincoln spills some details about "The Walking Deas" season 8. After Lincoln's character, Rick has been sent through the ringer, his group is now prepared to retaliate against Negan. However, there life will be placed in danger.

“I think it is going to be a lot more fun season eight, pitted against him with a bit more push back," Lincoln says. "I mean, the thing that I have always been so thrilled about playing this role is the writers and the gang at AMC have always been very keen on pushing it in different directions and exploring different areas of who Rick Grimes is, which has been one of the great thrills."

In the seventh season of "The Walking Dead" Rick lost Abraham, Sasha and Glenn. Having lost a lot of friends, Rick has finally realized that he can no longer lose more of his family. In the next season, Rick is ready to sacrifice what should be sacrificed and gain their freedom once again.

"This has been one of the more unpleasant aspects of his psyche, this submissive version, but certainly the first eight would be not a pleasant experience but it was a great challenge," he continues. "A good acting challenge. And certainly I enjoyed having a bit more bite, bit more grit in my belly, sharing scenes with Jeffrey Dean Morgan.”

TV Line even revealed that Rick is willing to sacrifice himself to give the people what they should have in their lives, which is freedom. Rick is willing to face the losses that could come as he fights Negan and his team.

As of this date, there is no definite release date yet of "The Walking Dead" season 8.
