Chansung is using his voice to invite all Korean citizens to participate in the presidential election happening on May 9.

Best known for his active contribution in raising awareness about the political issues of his native land, the 2PM member wrote a lengthy post to encourage his fellow Koreans to execute their right to suffrage.

"The election is coming up soon. Let's all vote," Chansung penned as per Allkpop. "It's a fantasy to think that someone will change your and our lives for the better when you don't vote."

The idol asked all citizens of Korea to spare some time to vote and make use of the power given to them in choosing the next leader to bring justice to those who have fallen victims of inequality and discrimination.

"In that lack of interest, we miss the road to our justice. No one brings change for us. So we must vote so the politicians get afraid of us and our generation and get nervous," the 2PM member explained.

Chansung refused to endorse a certain candidate, instead, he asked his fellow Koreans to do some background check of the presidential hopefuls and choose who they think will lead the country for the betterment.

According to Soompi, the 2PM vocalist did the same thing for the general election last year. Although he admitted that he does not know a lot about politics, Chansung believed that the people's votes play a crucial role in determining the future of the country.

The idol also thought that elections are the perfect time for the voters to ponder about the shortcomings of the previous leaders and correct them by choosing the right ones.

"Politics might seem difficult to understand. But I think that it's more important to develop a constant interest in politics than to know everything about it," he explained.

The special presidential election was decided after the impeachment of former president Park Geun Hye last month.
