Melissa McCarthy weight loss 2017: Receives award for action films; Spoofs Sean Spice regularly in ‘Saturday Night Live’By / 2017.04.20
"Identity Thief" actress, Melissa McCarthy is going to be honoured with an award this week, in lieu with her portrayal of different roles in movies, TV shows and the like. She has become a female action star in the process, thus making her deserving of such award.
It has recently been confirmed that actress Melissa McCarthy will be honoured with the Powerhouse award held by the Artemis Women in Action Film Festival. The award will be given to McCarthy this coming April 20 at the Ahrya Fine Arts Theatre in Beverly Hills. During the festival, McCarthy was highly recognized as an epitome for female action heroes in many films, according to Variety. According to the founder of the festival, they aim to redefine society's views and perceptions of women not just in films but in real life as well.
Aside from McCarthy, another awardee during the festival is the famous Hollywood action star, Tom Cruise. The latter will be accepting an Artemis Action Rebel award, which is in recognition for his body work. Nevertheless, there is focus and importance in McCarthy receiving the award to make a statement as she represents the women all over. Aside from accepting awards, McCarthy is also having been almost regularly appearing on "Saturday Night Live" while spoofing Sean Spicer, as reported by Independent.
She has turned the iconic White House Press Secretary into a ruffled ball of red-headed fury. Just last Easter Sunday, she spoofed Spicer dressed in an Easer Bunny costume to address the press team one more time. She referenced how Spicer alluded to Hitler just earlier in the week in never using chemical nuclear weapons despite the Holocaust. This was brought up in lieu of the recent events wherein President Donald Trump recently bombed the country of Syria. McCarthy then said of how disappointed she was for this to be happening during Passover or Jewish Easter.
