‘Harry Potter’ Author J.K. Rowling has a Surprise for Fans in China; Shanghai Film Festival to Screen all ‘Harry Potter’ Movies

The famous author of Harry Potter J.K. Rowling has a surprise in store for Harry Potter fans in China when the hit fantasy film series hits the screen once again for the 19th annual Shanghai International Film Festival in June.

Fans have the opportunity to watch all eight Harry Potter movies on the big screen once again. Organizers of the prestigious event revealed that they will be showing the movies during the highly anticipated Shanghai film festival.

The organizers also mentioned that J.K. Rowling has an exciting surprise for her Chinese fans. But fans will have to wait patiently until June to find out what the surprise it.

There are speculations that the surprise may have something to do with either the upcoming fantasy drama film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, or the upcoming two-part West End stage play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

The 19th Shanghai International Film Festival is scheduled to start on June 11 and end on June 19, 2016. Aside from the Harry Potter movies, the event will also feature Pixar movies, Korean Films, Oscar Film Panorama, Classic 007 Films Screening, Jackie Chan Action Movie Week, New Works of Renowned Japanese Directors, Retrospective of Recent Works of Woody Allen and 4K Restored Classic Film Panorama, and more.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will premiere on Nov. 18, 2016. It is directed by David Yates and stars Eddie Redmayne. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, on the other hand, will be staged on July 30, 2016.
