Fans of Descendants of the Sun are still hung over as they wait for the Korean drama's second run. While there have been speculations that a second episode of the hit TV series will soon follow, reports have surfaced claiming that lead male star Song Joong-ki has been spotted filming.

Fans are excited about the news that Song Joong-ki is filming for the second season of Descendants of the Sun. According to Parent Herald, the series' network, KBS, plans to give die-hard fans another 16 episodes of the TV show.

Unfortunately, Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo may not appear together in season two of Descendants of the Sun. There are reports that the new season will have a totally different storyline, resulting in different lead stars.

Although fans are hopeful that Song Joong-ki will return to Descendants of the Sun season 2, especially with the news that he has been spotted shooting, that, apparently, seems impossible at the moment as the 30-year old actor is extremely busy with his 8-city China tour.

As for the gorgeous Song Hye-kyo, the actress is still undecided on the matter of starring in the second season.

KBS drama head Jung Sung Ho has said that the network is striving "to produce a second Descendants of the Sun to meet expectations and repay viewers."

"We plan to launch a Descendants of the Sun project for broadcast in 2017 through negotiations with the cast and production team," he said.

Fans will simply have to wait a few more weeks, or even months, for a confirmation on Descendants of the Sun's season 2, as well as Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo's return.
