Reports have claimed that events of "Star Wars Rebels" are going to get darker as the animated series approaches season four. This was speculated based on an image released in promotion for the show's upcoming new season. According to a video uploaded on Star Wars' YouTube account, the, story writer and editor Steven Melching shared a short still on his Twitter account indicating trouble to come towards the Mandalorians.

The image released showed the Mandalorians' helmet scorched and lying on the ground. This image then indicated war that has emerged in the place, thus showing how darker the storyline has gotten. There is even smoke in the background if the revealed clip, indicating that some kind of war may have swept off the land from its occupants.

It can be recalled during the season three finale that the Mandalorians were involved when Sabine and the rest of the group made their final attempt to escape the clutches of Thrawn and the Empire. However, based on the teased clip, it looks like it may not have ended well for them.

In terms of the characters of the show, fans were thrilled when it was confirmed that there is still a lot more to the story of the show's antagonist, Thrawn as reported by Comic Book. Thus there will be more to the show's story line which has been highly anticipated by the fans also, as to not be able to sheer away from the original story.

Furthermore, executive producer Dave Filoni teased that the upcoming "Star Wars Rebels" will explore more on Sabine's home planer. It has been realized that as the series goes on, it will eventually end in "Star Wars: Clone Wars," thus featuring Sabine's home in the former as it did in the latter.
