There's only six episode left in "Riverdale" Season 1, and it's high time the entire town figures out who killed Jason Blossom. So far, Betty (Lili Reinhart) and Jughead (Cole Sprouse) have discovered some clue that might lead to Jason's killer, but the twist and turns only get more complicated by the minute. In the meantime, here's a list of the top 5 suspects to Jason Blossom's murder.
5. Alice and Hal Cooper
For now, the popular theory among fans is that Betty's parents killed Jason Blossom. They have clear motive on killing Jason, that is they want revenge for what he did to Polly. Moreover, Hal took all the evidence relating to the case from the sheriff's office.
4. Cheryl Blossom
Cheryl has been going on a crazy roller coaster so far on the show, and appears to be the most affected by Jason's death. Some theorist believe that Cheryl may have killed Jason in a jealous rage, considering that he is totally devoted to Jason and probably wants him all to himself. She probably didn't want Jason to run off with Polly, and the only way to stop him was by killing him. According to Metro, it was also unusual that Cheryl was specifically told by her mom not to speak at Jason's funeral. Was it because the twin were guilty of a scandal that could ruin the family's reputation?
3. Betty Cooper
Betty appears hell bent on solving the case of who killed Jason Blossom. Although she has valid reasons for doing so, it seems weird that she's too invested in going all Nancy Drew and solving the crime. It's also interesting to note that at one point on the show it was revealed that Betty has occasional blackouts where she can't remember what she did previously. What if Betty killed Jason, blacked out and totally forgot about it?
2. Ms. Grundy's ex
We haven't heard anything from Ms. Grundy so far, but she's left quite a bad taste in everyone's mouth. Ms. Grundy admitted that she's not really Ms. Grundy, and that she's only using an alias to hide from her abusive ex. The long-standing theory is that Jason wasn't the intended victim of the shooting, and that it was Archie who was supposed to have been shot.
1. Jughead Jones
In a video uploaded by The CW on March 23, Jughead casually tells the audience that he killed Jason Blossom. Was this an admission or was he just trolling fans? Maybe, may be not. Much like Betty, Jughead also shows great interest in Jason's murder. Aside from writing a book, he also helps Betty solve the case.
There may be plenty of theories out there, but it appears that KJ Apa knows who the real killer is. Speaking to TooFab, he revealed he "wasn't surprised" when he found out who killed Jason Blossom.
