South Korean-Japanese singer Kangnam reveals some details about his upcoming album that is set to be released at the end of the year in a recent interview with fashion and lifestyle magazine “InStyle”.

"The genre will be close to rock. But rather than one set genre, since I like both rock and hip-hop, my greatest goal is to release my own color," shared the former M.I.B. member, as quoted by All KPop.

He added regarding his role model: "Personally, I really love Jamie Foxx. He's gifted in both music and in speech, plus he's great at variety. I also want to become someone like that."

Aside from being interviewed by the magazine, Kangnam also posed for a photo shoot with the magazine. In the teaser photo, the artist carried out a refreshing vibe in a Hawaiian-themed setting.

In one shot, Kangnam seemed to be enjoying playing the ukulele as he is sitting on the floor in his blue printed long-sleeved top matched with dark blue sandals and black beach sandals. The next photo, on the other hand, revealed the happy image of the star as he is comfortably sitting on a bed with a dog beside him.

Meanwhile, Kangnam has recently made an appearance in the March 27 episode of Olive TV's cooking show ”Order&Cook”. In one part of the program, the singer revealed that he had been suspended for five times during his high school days.

Kangnam explained as quoted by All KPop: "There weren't many schools in Hawaii… Eventually, I ended up going to an international school in Japan… It was because I didn't like studying."

Born as Yasuo Namekawa, Kangnam joined M.I.B ( Most Incredible Busters) in 2011 under the label Jungle Entertainment. The band disbanded in January this year.
