Nam Joo Hyuk’s upcoming drama ‘Bride Of The Water God 2017’ eyes to cast Im Joo HwanBy / 2017.03.02
The much awaited "Bride of the Water God 2017" has offered a role to Im Joo Hwan to join Nam Joo Hyuk, Shin Se Kyung, Gong Myung, and Krystal in the tvN drama.
The proposal was confirmed by a source from Blossom Entertainment. According to Soompi, Im Joo Hwan is still reviewing the offer and has yet to give his final decision on the role.
Im Joo Hwan made his acting debut with "Magic" in 2004. The Korean actor started out with supporting roles before he was given his breakthrough with "Tamra, the Island," where he played as the main lead.
The 2009 MBC series follows the story of Koreans and foreigners during the 17th century Joseon. Im Joo Hwan took the role of Park Gyu, who was sent by the King to Tamra to find any anomalies on the island.
Despite ending with low ratings, "Tamra, the Island" has given Im Joo Hwan the Best New Actor recognition at the 2009 Korean Culture and Entertainment Awards for his performance.
Aside from the historical drama, Im Joo Hwan also appeared in "Boys Over Flowers," "Ugly Alert" and "Shine or Go Crazy." The Korean actor recently shared the small screen with Kim Woo Bin and Suzy in "Uncontrollably Fond."
Meanwhile, "Bride of the Water God 2017" is said to be an adaptation of a romcom webtoon. Allkpop reported the upcoming tvN drama will be spearheaded by Kim Byung Soo as the producer, who will work together with "Misaeng's" scriptwriter.
"Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo" actor Nam Joo Hyuk will play as Haebak the water god, while Shin Se Kyung will take the role of Soah. On the other hand, Gong Myung is set to star as Biryeom the wind god, and Krystal was confirmed to take Hera's role in "Bride of the Water God 2017."
