Lee Chae Rin, best known as CL, stunned her followers after posting an alluring photo on her birthday last Saturday. In the said post, the former 2NE1 member appeared to be topless.

According to Koreaboo, the Instagram post has sparked an argument among CL's followers. Some of them were convinced that the idol was topless in the photo, while others insisted she was wearing a tank-top.

The controversial photo was captioned, "Thank you for all the birthday blessings." At the moment of writing, the photo has over 300,000 likes and 7,000 comments.

However, CL's previous Instagram update is a proof that the idol was wearing a tight tank-top when the controversial photo was taken. Also, a white strap can be spotted at the right side of her shoulder.

Previously, CL got mired in a controversy for allegedly appearing nude in the music video of 2NE1's "MISSING YOU." But despite that, many of her fans thought the idol was rather looking classy instead of appearing vulgar.

The Korean singer-songwriter auditioned with YG Entertainment at the age of 15. Her career started with a collaboration project with BIGBANG in 2007. A couple of years later, CL made her debut with 2NE1 on "The Music Trend."

"When I first entered YG, I spent two and a half years as a trainee. During that time, I came into my own style and learned about the Korean music industry," she said as per Soompi.

The former 2NE1 member added she has also spent a couple of years planning for her US debut. Despite her popularity in Korean, CL considers herself a rookie artist in the US.

Following the girl group's disbandment, CL is just looking forward to promote as a solo artist this year. "I would like it if fans weren't in too much of a hurry and waited for me. I'll repay everyone with a great album," she promised.
