Producers of the show "24: Legacy" recently sent their apologies to the people of Nairobi if they have offended and have hurt them after showing an actual footage of a terrorist attack on their 4th episode, "3:00 PM - 4:00 PM." Showrunners also said they are removing the said footage and were hoping they are forgiven, especially by those who have families involved in the said incident.

In an attempt to make their stories and scenes more realistic, it seems like producers of "24: Legacy" went too far when they added a real life terror attack that happened at the Westgate mall in Nairobi. Based on Deadline's report, it was an incident back in 2013 that killed 67 people and over 175 were injured.

In the show, they intended to have sample footages that feature terror attacks involving men who were wearing masks. A CIA agent was showing his colleagues of the many possibilities that the villain could do and one of them is by attacking a public place like the mall. The showrunners took responsibility and admitted that they indeed used a video of the terror attack to make the story look more believable and they ended up regreting it.

According to Quartz, the character in the show said that the attack took place in Egypt killing over 200 people, which included 18 Americans. However, it is something that Kenyan viewers won't forget so it was impossible for them to not notice it.

In fact, a lot of them posted on Twitter on how insensitive the show was. They even made the hashtag "SomeoneTellFox," in order for the bosses of the network to be aware of it.

It was offensive for the families of the people affected by that attack, which is why executive producers of "24: Legacy" reached out to them through a public apology. They promised that they will delete that scene on future airings of the show and they did regret including it to begin with.
