Girls’ Generation Yuri reveals ‘Defendant’ co-star Ji Sung helped her portraying her role

Yuri talked about her acting career in the latest issue of "InStyle." The Girls' Generation member currently star in the SBS drama "Defendant."

On Feb. 21, the celebrity and fashion magazine released their March issue interview and pictorial with Yuri. The pictorial features Yuri's adorable and multi-faceted charm which is part of the magazine's 14th year anniversary issue.

Despite her busy schedule, the 27-year old singer appeared to be fully energetic with a flawless and perfect complexion. In the interview, the star talked about her career plans especially her acting career.

"Right now, I am starting a new challenge as actress Kwon Yuri. I want to seek out more opportunities and a new image," Soompi reported.

She also revealed that her "Defendant" co-star Ji Sung has taught her a lot about acting. In which, it resulted to a more comfortable, enjoyable filming process.

"Defendant" tells the story of prosecutor Park Jung Woo (Ji), who is the head of the violent crimes investigative division at Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office. However, one day he wakes up and finds himself a convicted criminal on a death row.

Jung Woo suffers from a temporary amnesia and has no idea what happened that landed him on prison. He then struggles to recover his memory and clear his name.

The drama started airing on SBS last Jan. 23 where its first episode clocked in a 14.5 percent viewership rating. On its fourth episode, the drama garnered a 20.8 percent viewership rating, as per Nielsen Korea, beating MBC's "Rebel: Thief Who Stole the People" and KBS2's "Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth."

"Defendant" is directed by director Jo Young Kwang who is behind the 2011 drama "49 Days," starring Lee Yo Won, Nam Gyu Ri, Jo Hyun Jae, Jung II-woo, Bae Soo Bin, and Seo Ji Hye. Writer for the drama is Choi Su Jin who is behind Lee Min Ho's 2011 drama "City Hunter."
