More and more viewers are drawn to the twist-filled plot of "Defendant" to follow the battle of Park Jung Woo in his quest to find justice for the murder of his own wife.

Amid good feedbacks and whopping viewership ratings, SBS recently confirmed that they are adding two more episodes of "Defendant" from the initial plan of 16 episodes.

Allkpop cited the Ji Sung starrer is scheduled to air its 18th and last episode on Mar. 21. The brains behind "Defendant" even promised that they will not fail the viewers with how things will end for Park Jung Woo against Cha Min Ho.

Reports stated the decision for additional episodes came after avid supporters of the legal drama requested for more of it. Most of them commended "Defendant" for its story as well as the actors for their convincing roles.

"We judged that it would impossible to complete the story in just 16 episodes, and we also received a flood of viewers' requests for an extension. We will respond to our viewers' support with a stronger storyline," the production said.

"Defendant" follows the life of Park Jung Woo, a prosecutor who found himself inside the prison for allegedly killing his own family. Despite suffering from temporary memory loss, Ji Sung's character slowly uncovers the mystery of the crime.

After each thrilling episode, the SBS legal drama has become one of the most-loved TV programs for the month of February as per Soompi. "Defendant" landed on the third spot, falling behind JTBC's "Ssulzun" and MBC's "Infinite Challenge" at numbers 1 and 2, respectively.

Yoon Kyun Sang's "Rebel: Thief Who Stole The People" took the fourth spot, while "Chief Kim" made it to 10th place. On the other hand, KBS2's recently ended historical drama "Hwarang" was voted on the 16th spot.
